It takes a great deal of faith in people--in their intelligence, patience, willingness to set aside grievances and simply listen, reconsidering their views from an expanded perspective--to make a speech like this one in the middle of a highly contested Presidential campaign. It is not dumbed down, clichéd, rabble-rousing or slanted. It is a clear-eyed assessment of how things are, in all their complexity.

I realized today that my big problem with Obama is I can never remember if "Obama" is his first name or last name.
Anyway, you might want to go to hear what he actually said instead of reading what he was supposed to say. My experience with press-release transcripts is they're not always accurate.
Okay, so my system is messed up and I can't watch the YouTube video. So I read the press release version.
Obama made me cry. I'm voting for him, that's it.
I've seen the light. I cried too.
