Pretty Lady has figured out that the chief benefit of her new hairdo is that it goes so well with her CarolAnn Wachter hat collection.
Sadly, if this phase continues, she's going to have to invest in another tube of Pompeii-colored lipstick. The old one has fossilized from lack of use.
Ah, well. Back to the twentieth century with thee, Bette, dear.
Update: How do y'all like this for a new profile photo?

Adorable.
Indeed!
with a touch of Veronica Lake thrown in!
ahhhhh!!!!!!!
KEEEE-YUUUUte.
Veronica Lake? I didn't see any lake Alan m'Ladd.
I'm blushing.
he that would pun would pick a pocket.
Mail call.
Worth the wait!
whoopee....
A picket, a pocket, I'm looking for my socket.
BUt Pretty Lady...I LOVE THE BOTTOM PIC WITH THE PURSED LIPS AND AUNT BETTY"S NECKLACE THE BEST BY FAR>
It's Brooklyn. good
All right, then, the 'ayes' have it.
I'm late to the party, but I'm actually partial to the smile in #3.
Although I would prefer to have a wider range of choices, maybe 20 or so. In this limited group, I'm partial to #1- because it has the most "attitidue".
Will you change the header to:
"Pretty Lady. Armed and Fabulous"
?
"Pretty Lady. Armed and Fabulous"
*grin*
Yeah, it might give the guys some warning.... and some pause.
Twenty??? You want twenty choices? Do know what it cost Pretty Lady in terms of wear and tear on her NarcisoMeter to post four??
Dream on. Pretty Lady foresees a few weeks of posts on Deep, Serious, Ascetic topics as it is.
And Morris, any fellow who is not sufficiently Warned and Terrified already is a fool indeed.
The third one is pretty damn hot
Yes. Her eyes have their allure, but it's her smile that just takes you away.
Do know what it cost Pretty Lady in terms of wear and tear on her NarcisoMeter to post four??
Another way of saying "I'm shy and I couldn't possibly..."? Aw c'mon. You know you love the worship. :)
OK, how about 20 deep, serious, ascetic posts of Very Important Topics- each with a new picture attached.
Best of both worlds, I'm thinking.
Yes, I know that humility is one of the bases of PL's being. I have to balance that with the appreciation of visual pleasantness that is one of my core values.
ALTHOUGH, I recognize that it's your world, and I bow to your rules.
I am, or course, grateful for the 4. There are certain good things of which there is never too much.
Fabulous, dear. I'm coveting that necklace.
OH, mitzibel, I want it too!!!
And I'm actually with DC and co. on #3. They're all great. But I love the smile. Are those dimples I see?!?
Oh, such a hat!!!
I haven't worn one regularly since someone stole my fedora at a bar in...19..87? Somewhere around there.
Broke my heart, it did, and I've been mourning it, hatless, ever since.
are you by any chance an old recovering alcoholic living in santa fe,circa 1982?
No, I am a Pretty Lady living in Brooklyn, circa 2007, mm. YOU are the hag with the drug problem.
mallarmade- please understand that I am not making light of your request, but you may want to restrict the variable [you]in your query.
PL would have been about 14 (I'm SWAGuessing) in that time frame.
Damn, I wish I had your talent for spotting bad intent. I also wish you didn't have to have developed it. I wish I was 6'8" as well. So it goes...
JWYW, aren't you sweet. The truth is that Pretty Lady has only acquired one committed troll in the course of her career, despite her best efforts at controversy; this lone, spiteful creature is moreover very easy to spot, due to her highly recognizable typing idiosyncrasies.
It is, truly, tragic. What does a person have to DO to whip up a few flame wars around here?
OK- how about this:
"Crom-
You SUCK at being dull and moronic. If you check your sources a little more carefully, I'm sure you would (not surprisingly) find that you are exactly correct..."
Nah, it just doesn't wash, does it?
I'm a "flamin'" failure. Guess I have to go drink a pint of G to assuage the pain- which was the plan for after work anyway, actually.
Kawaii!
And to briefly indulge my fondness for Tex Avery cartoons:
Woof!
(I shall not, however, beat my head with an oversized mallet.)
As for the Bette Davis reference, the hat, yes. But the hair? No, no !! Hie thee to a salon immediately!!
