Oh, the group is "Luar na Lubre" and the song is "Chobe en Santiago." And I did not know that there were Celts in Galicia.
I'm glad you like it. My CD should arrive tomorrow. When I first heard this I ended up listening to everything posted on Youtube. I had to have it.
The Celts of Galatia were very much persecuted because they were so different, with their own language and such. I've been able to find out that there was a revival in their Celtic traditions only recently and most of it has come from the Americas where the Gallegos immigrated to, and gone back to Spain.
Exquisite. Pure ear and eye candy.

Did you ever follow that link I sent you to Broadside Electric? I think if you like folk-based music, you'd like them. They've got some of their music up on their site.
I went to school with their drummer, Joe D'Andrea. He's one of the smartest and most talented people I've ever met, which is saying a lot, considering how lucky I've been to know many smart and talented people.
I don't think you sent me that link before, but I followed it, and they DON'T have any music up on their site, that I can find. In this day and age, a band with a huge website and no mp3s on it is...well, quixotic is the kinder term that springs to mind...
Joe is brilliant and talented and very, very particular about how and why he does things. Like many brilliant people, he has no concept of how normal humans expect things to be. His verbosity makes me look terse, for one thing.
Anyway, their music samples are on their merchandise page. Also, you can now find them on iTunes and Napster and Last FM. Alas, none of my favorite stuff is up there.
