Who is BSBurke? Funny that the piece is in memorium. I immediately thought it looked a bit like life after the apocalypse.
Funny how that is.
Betty Speer Burke is the aunt that Pretty Lady takes after. She passed away yesterday evening, just as this painting was completed.
art doesn't get any better than that. If you take after her, I will take it for granted that she had a great life. I hope she did.

You painted it? I'm not really a modern art fan, but that is different. It's not the frightening visage that many artists impose. What I see in your piece make sense. I see what really is, sort of, or at least an artistic impression of it. No hell, death, or flames, just another look at the earth from a different set of capacities. But then, I'm not a student of art of philosophy. If that's true, I bet your paintings, if you do them, of people could be quite interesting.
Now, this is coming from a non-artist, but I really like the work. I think it shows great talent and perspective. I can only guess that the act of creating brings you much peace, when it's frustrations don't make you want to quit that is:)

Doom, follow that link in to her other site. It is really quite fascinating art she does. I hesitate to say more because I'm just an uncultured philistine, but I do like what I see.
Actually when you read about her approach, it makes sense why.

Condolences. I hope she did not suffer. May she rest in peace. I know how hard it is to lose a beloved family member. No matter how much one might believe in an after life, this life is always a little harder to enjoy whenever yet another loved one leaves us behind.

I genuinely have no idea. Burke is the last name of her first husband, Tommy, the father of my dear cousins; he passed away a few years ago. But I am very happy to say that my cousins are well. I can put you in touch with them if you like!
Let me add my condolences too. No matter what our beliefs are about life here on earth or after we pass, it's a lonesome thing to lose someone we cherish.
